Huddart Park

A couple weeks ago we went to a place called Huddart Park. There were lots of beautiful trails and places to walk around. We went on a small hike but were a little afraid of all the poison oak we saw (Trevor is hypersensitive to poison oak).  I thought it was a fun family outing.

All the beauty of the earth around and they only wanted to play with the drinking fountain...

The boys were getting tired walking back so Trevor graciously carried BOTH of them for a little while.  I was pretty impressed!

Learning new names for body parts

Calvin: "Mommy, what's this?" (pointing to his heel)
Lindsay: "Are you pointing to your heel?"
Calvin: "No, it's called a foot chin!"

I know I still need to post pictures from Calvin's birthday last week.  That is my goal this weekend. :)

Calvin's idea of a "green smoothie"

Calvin has started to not like green smoothies as much (it's because some haven't been as sweet as he probably wants them to be).  I once told him that one morning we'll let him decide everything that he wants to put in the smoothie so he gets more excited about them.

Me: Calvin, what would you like to put in your smoothie when you make it?
Calvin: Ummm, chocolate chips... dates... and almonds
Me: That's it?
Calvin: Yeah

Hmmm, chocolate almond milk.  Doesn't sound too shabby.  It wouldn't have fruits/veggies but maybe for a dessert we'll try it sometime! :0)

Someone is missing his cousins in Utah

After getting done with a bath:

Calvin: "Mom, is that okay if we visit Klink's cousins?" (Klink is his imaginary green grasshopper friend)
Me: "Sure, where do they live?"
Calvin: "Bath mountain.  Yeah, NOT Eagle Mountain.  Bath Mountain.  In a big house.  With lots of rooms."

More Calvinisms

Calvin finally named his stuffed dog "Wallhunter"  I don't think I could have come up with a better name myself.  We've since learned that Wallhunter's favorite color is purple and his favorite ice cream is mint.

Calvin: "Can I take a picture of Wallhunter?  Yeah, cause he's really cute."

Calvin: "Uh-oh Mommy!  My fork!  I don't see it anywhere!  Where did it go?
Me: "It's in your hand Calvin"
Calvin: "Oh okay"
(This has happened on a couple of occasions)

While driving through the Costco parking lot:
Me: "Why do you want your window rolled down?"
Calvin: "I want my window down so I can see the people in the trees"(Just for the record there were no people in the trees at Costco)

Calvin: "Want to hear my new laugh?  Yeah, that's because Klink threw away my old laugh in the trash.  And then Klink bought a new laugh for me at the laugh store."

Trip to Utah Part 1

Last week we went to Utah to for Trevor's grandpa's 90th birthday party. We were able to pack a lot into one week and we had so much fun!

On Sunday we saw my Grandma Black and Aunt Becky's family.

Right from their house we went to my cousin Molly's house and saw a bunch of cousins on my (Lindsay's) side.  Calvin and Levi had lots of fun playing with all the kids.

On Monday we went and saw my Grandpa Walker.

We stayed with Trevor's sister, Heather and her family.  Calvin and Levi had a really good time playing with their cousins.  Olivia was like a little mother to Levi, and Calvin and Alicey acted like best friends.

On Tuesday we went down to Provo (holy constructionmole on I-15!) and saw some of Trevor's friends.  Calvin and Levi had fun playing with their dogs and then we walked to the Bean Museum.

Calvin loved Mary (standing next to him in the picture) and talked to her almost the whole time we were there.  After the Bean Museum we were in the car going to get something to eat and Calvin asked, "Is Mary and 'that guy' going to be there?"  He was very excited to find out she was and he continued to talk to her while we were at Costa Vida.

On Wednesday we went to the Discovery Museum at Gateway Mall in Salt Lake City.  The kids had a good time there as well.

They had a helicopter that the kids could sit in.  Calvin really liked this exhibit.

Levi did a lot of this during our trip.  He had to sleep whenever he could.

On Wednesday we also met up with Wray, Natalie, Emily, and Jared. It was really fun to see them again and Calvin remembered Chloe!

Trip to Utah Part 2

Baby goats that Aunt Heather and Uncle Cesar recently bought.

On Monday we went to a place in Pleasant Grove called "Kangaroo Zoo" that had lots of jolly jumps (big inflatables) in a warehouse-sized room.  Calvin had a blast jumping around and going down the slides.  Levi wasn't too sure of it because he never felt stable walking around, but he seemed to warm up to the idea eventually.
Calvin really liked the "big slide!"

On Thursday night we had a cousins pot-luck dinner at the church building.
I don't know how many rolls Levi ate that night, but I know it was at least four.

The kids sang "I'm so glad when Dado comes home" for Dado's birthday party.
Friday night was the big 90th birthday celebration.  It was such a nice program.

Levi found a piano.  I'm not surprised he started plunking away at the keys as soon as he saw it!

 The incredible edible cake.

Calvin was obsessed with these binoculars the whole evening.  They went through Grandma and Dado's house and grabbed different things for the table decorations.  These happened to be on our table.

Happy Birthday Dado! (I'm realizing now that Trevor should have been in this photo instead of me.  Bad planning on our part...)

 At the park.

Playing with cousin Sam.  Calvin enjoyed wrestling with Sam.

We went on a hike up the "big mountain!"

Now we are home and life is back to normal! :0)
